He then helped out with an assist in the Express' 4-2 loss in Atlantic City on Feb. 27, before picking up a total of five points in two games at the Roanoke Civic Center against the Dayton Bombers to close out the week. Mallette scored both of Roanoke's goals on Feb. 28 in a 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Bombers, and then added a goal and two assists on Feb. 29 in a 4-3 victory over Dayton.

Overall, the former 4th round draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2000, has notched at least one point in 10 of his first 11 games with the Express since being acquired in a trade with Florida on February 11.
