
Chasers Return for 8-Game Homestand Friday

The Omaha Storm Chasers return to Werner Park on Friday, May 4 to begin a eight-game homestand with the New Orleans Baby Cakes (May 4-7) and Iowa Cubs (May 8-11). The homestand begins with Star Wars Night presented by Parentsavvy.com and a post-game Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks spectacular, while former Omaha Royals catcher and Kansas City Royals Hall of Famer Mike Sweeney is expected to be in attendance thanks to Atlas MedStaff on Saturday, May 5 to begin the homestand.
Friday, May 4 (7:05pm) vs. New Orleans Baby Cakes
Star Wars Night presented by Parentsavvy.com: The Force will be strong at Werner Park with the return of Star Wars Night presented by Parentsavvy.com! Members of the 501st Legion are expected to be in attendance walking along the concourse as some of fans' favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away.
Star Wars Jersey Auction: Storm Chasers players and coaches will be wearing special X-Wing fighter pilot jerseys, which will be auctioned off that evening to benefit Methodist Hospital Foundation.
Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks: the skies are set to ignite with a post-game Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks spectacular themed to Star Wars music.
Saturday, May 5 (7:05pm) vs. New Orleans Baby Cakes
Mike Sweeney Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Centris Federal Credit Union: the first 2,000 fans to enter Werner Park at 6:00pm CT will receive the second in the set of five 50th Season Bobbleheads presented by Centris Federal Credit Union. Former Omaha Royals catcher and Kansas City Royals Hall of Famer Mike Sweeney's bobblehead will be given out.
Bill Gorman Administrative Office Dedication Ceremony: prior to the game, the Storm Chasers will honor longtime Omaha Royals General Bill Gorman in a special pre-game ceremony, in which the organization will rename their administrative offices in remembrance of Gorman.
Mike Sweeney Appearance courtesy of Atlas MedStaff: Mike Sweeney is scheduled to be in attendance thanks to Atlas MedStaff, and is expected to sign autographs for fans for approximately one hour starting at 7:00pm.
Sunday, May 6 (2:05pm) vs. New Orleans Baby Cakes
Pre-Game Steve Pivovar Press Box Dedication Ceremony: the Storm Chasers will honor the late longtime Omaha Royals beat writer Steve Pivovar by renaming the Werner Park Press Box in Piv's honor. Pivovar's family is expected to be in attendance for the dedication ceremony.
Why I Want To Go To College Pre-Game Ceremony: Nebraska State Treasurer Don Sternberg is expected to be in attendance to honor the winners of NEST's "Why I Want To Go To College" Essay Contest in a pre-game ceremony.
U.S. Bank Family FUNday: Clowns and balloon artists will be out on the concourse for U.S. Bank Family FUNday, in addition to Wildlife Encounters.
Hy-Vee Canned Food Sundays: Fans who bring two Hy-Vee branded canned food items will receive a free McDonald's Berm Ticket. The items will be donated to Heartland Hope Mission.
Hardee's Kids Run The Bases: Kids ten and under will be able to run the bases following the Storm Chasers' matchup with Parentsavvy.com Lil' Chasers Members able to be first in line.
Monday, May 7 (6:35pm) vs. New Orleans Baby Cakes
Monday Night Baseball: Start the week off right at Werner Park, as the Storm Chasers conclude their four-game series with the New Orleans Baby Cakes on Monday evening.
Tuesday, May 8 (6:35pm) vs. Iowa Cubs
50 Cent Tuesday: 50 Cent Tuesday returns to Werner Park, with french fries, small soda, nachos, peanuts and Uncle Ray's chips available for purchase for 50-cents each. McDonald's Berm tickets will also be available for only $5!
Wednesday, May 9 (11:05am) vs. Iowa Cubs
Wednesday Matinee: the Storm Chasers and I-Cubs face off in a Wednesday matinee at Werner Park with a special 11:05am start time.
Thursday, May 10 (6:35pm) vs. Iowa Cubs
Thirsty Thursday: the weekend starts early with drink specials including $2 Budweiser, Bud Light and Busch Light, as well as $1 small Pepsi products.
Friday, May 11 (6:35pm) vs. Iowa Cubs
Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks: the Storm Chasers conclude their homestand with another Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks spectacular following the game!
