Charlotte FC Signs MLS SuperDraft Picks Patrick Agyemang, Nick Scardina and Andrew Privett

CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte FC today announced the Club has signed forward Patrick Agyemang and midfielders Nick Scardina and Andrew Privett to deals through 2023 with option years until 2026 following successful preseason stints.

Agyemang, the 12th overall pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, was a prolific striker at the University of Rhode Island, netting 19 goals and 12 assists for the Rams. A Connecticut native, Agyemang was clocked as the fastest player at the MLS College Showcase and earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honors as a junior (2021) and senior (2022).

Scardina, a second-round pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, scored 18 goals and added seven assists over the course of his four-year career with the University of Washington, helping the Huskies to a runner-up finish at the 2021 NCAA College Cup. In 2022, he was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference First Team after appearing in all 20 matches with 19 starts.

Privett was selected in the third round of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. The Maryland native had a breakout season offensively for Penn State in 2021, leading the team in goals with nine while also contributing four assists. Over his four-year stay with the program, he only missed one match to make 68 total appearances with 44 starts and was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team as a junior in 2021.

"We're excited to sign this trio to their first professional contracts as they have all earned the opportunity to begin their professional careers here at Charlotte FC through their play during preseason," said Sporting Director Zoran Krneta. "Patrick, Nick and Andrew have demonstrated excellent work ethic on and off the field, and we're looking forward to seeing them continue their development under the leadership of our technical staff."
