New England Revolution Re-Sign Midfielder Emmanuel Boateng

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution have re-signed midfielder Emmanuel Boateng to a one-year contract through the 2023 Major League Soccer season with an additional one-year club option for 2024. Boateng, who will occupy a supplemental roster slot, re-joins New England for his third season with the Revolution after spending the 2023 preseason on trial with the club. The 29-year-old has registered four goals and seven assists through 39 MLS appearances in a Revolution uniform over the last two seasons.

Boateng joined the Revolution in January 2021 via free agency. The midfielder owns 160 MLS appearances, including 80 games started, with 13 goals scored and 21 assists over nine seasons with the LA Galaxy, D.C. United, Columbus Crew, and New England Revolution. Prior to joining the Revolution, Boateng recorded 10 appearances for the Columbus Crew in 2020, and an additional two performances in the MLS Cup Playoffs, helping the club lift its second MLS Cup title. A native of Accra, Ghana, Boateng began his professional career in Sweden's top-flight Allsvenskan with Helsingborgs IF from 2013-15.

The Revolution begin the 2023 MLS regular season on Saturday night on the road at Charlotte FC. The match kicks off from Bank of America Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV. Eric Krakauer and Lloyd Sam will have the call in English, with Moises Linares and Jaime Macias providing Spanish commentary. All matches during 'MLS is Back' opening weekend will stream for free on MLS Season Pass. Saturday's contest also airs on 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the action, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio in Portuguese.
