SHOOTOUT DOOMS CHARLOTTE AGAINST FLORIDA AGAIN, LOSE 3-2
Charlotte, N.C. - The Checkers found their way into a shootout in back to back games against the Everblades and the results were the same the second time around as they fell to Florida by a score of 3-2.

WILD GAME ENDS IN SHOOTOUT LOSS FOR CHECKERS AGAINST FLORIDA
Charlotte, N.C. - Jeff Miles tied the game with just 24 seconds left after he failed to do so moments earlier on a penalty shot. Despite the late game heroics, the Florida Everblades came away with the two points in a shootout victory by a score of 4-3.

CHECKERS CAN'T STOP EVERBLADES POWER PLAY, LOSE 5-3
Fort Myers, FL. - Despite holding a one-goal lead in the third period, the Checkers surrendered two power-play goals against in the final period relinquishing their advantage and lost to the Florida Everblades by a 5-3 final.

JAKAITIS CARRIES CHECKERS TO VICTORY OVER FLORIDA IN SHOOTOUT
Fort Myers, FL. - If you ask Checkers players who the team's most valuable player this season, you would be hard pressed to find someone who thinks it's other than goaltender Jeff Jakaitis. Tonight's performance in a 47 save 3-2 shootout victory over the Florida Everblades is proof enough of his dominance in the crease this season.

CHECKERS NOTES
- The Checkers only have one more road game during the season which will take place in Florida on Saturday night.
- Checkers goaltender Jeff Jakaitis played three games this week against the Everblades with a record of 1-0-2. During those three contests, he stopped 134 shots out of 140 for a save percentage of 95.7%.
- Four of the last night contest for the Jakaitis have ended in a shootout loss.
- Since returning from injury, Checkers forward Brad Ralph has two goals and two assists in four games and is averaging over a point per game on the season with 13 goals and 37 assists in 24 games.
- Checkers Forward Mike Bayrack leads the team in points with 20 goals and 38 assists for 58 points in 57 games played.
