Lincoln Saltdogs News Release
LINCOLN - Charle Rosario threw a two-hitter as the Gary SouthShore RailCats (14-15) blanked the Saltdogs (17-12) 3-0 in front 2,699 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.
Rosario (5-1) yielded just two singles and a walk, striking out eight and walking one in the complete-game masterpiece.
Gary struck for two runs in the first inning and that proved to be all they needed against Shairon Martis.
Martis (4-3) went eight, allowing two earned with seven strikeouts and no walks to take the tough-luck loss.
At one point the former big leaguer sent down 14 straight Gary hitters.
Dan Hennigan had both singles for the 'Dogs, who never put a runner in scoring position against the 27-year old righty.
The clubs play the rubber game Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. LHP Jeff McKenzie is expected to face RHP Richard Castillo.
Radio coverage begins at 4:35 p.m. on KFOR FM 103.3/1240 AM. Online streaming coverage starts at 5 p.m. on AmericanAssociationBaseball.TV.
