Augusta Lynx News Release
AUGUSTA, GA - The Augusta Lynx are proud to announce Charles Howell III Appreciation Night. Augusta native and PGA Professional Charles Howell III will be honored at the next Lynx home game, scheduled for Friday, December 27th when the Columbus Cottonmouths come to town. Howell III will be a part of the opening ceremonies as he drops the puck at Center ice and the building gets renamed for the evening to "Augusta's Frozen Fairway" complete with it's own version of Amen âCorners,' four corners to be exact. Face-off for this game is scheduled for 7:35 pm.
Lynx GM Jim Burton is excited about the evening, "This should be a wonderful evening for Augusta as the hockey world meets the golfing world. On behalf of the entire community the Lynx wanted to say congratulations to Charles. He represents our community every time he steps out on the course, and it is our honor to have him at the game while he's home for the holidays for this night of recognition.
In conjunction with this very special occasion, the Lynx are asking all fans to bring to the game one golf ball to be donated to the First Tee of Augusta and distributed to amateur golfers throughout the CSRA. With each golf ball donated, the Lynx Foundation will match a one-dollar donation to the First Tee of Augusta on behalf of Charles Howell III Appreciation Night. For more information on the First Tee of Augusta go online at wwww.thefirsttee.org.
The Lynx will be playing in Greenville this evening, and continue on the road for games with Columbus and South Carolina over the weekend. For more information please feel free to contact the Lynx Public Relations Department at 724-4423.
