SAN DIEGO - Mark Pederson earned Player of the Week honors, while Trevor Koenig grabbed Goaltender of the Week, the West Coast Hockey League announced today.

Pederson just finished his finest week in a San Diego uniform, leading the Blue and Orange to five straight wins. He notched 10 points (5g, 5a) in four games last week, highlighted by a four-point game Friday and a hat trick Saturday.

The native of Prelate, Saskatchewan has suited up for all 24 games this season and now ranks seventh in the WCHL with 25 points. He's tied for third in the league with 13 goals, nine of which have come on the power play (a league high).

Koenig earns Goaltender of the Week honors for the second time this season. The 28-year-old netminder went 4-0 last week with a 1.50 goals against average. Koenig now has an overall 12-8-1 record, 2.13 GAA and .916 save percentage. He also picked up his 11th career WCHL shutout, tying him with Idaho's Blair Allison for the all-time high.

The Gulls hit the road for a two-game weekend series in Anchorage. Both Friday's and Saturday's game begin at 8 p.m. (PST). All games can be heard live on 1130AM-KSDO and at www.ksdo.com with Chris Ello calling the play-by-play. The Gulls' Internet radio show broadcasts live every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on wsradio.com with Tera Black and Jeremy Zager hosting.
