Club de Foot Montreal News Release

NASHVILLE, Tennessee - Halfway through a stretch of three games in nine days, CF Montréal (6-3-2) will visit Nashville SC (4-4-3) this Wednesday at 8:30pm EDT at GEODIS Park (TVA Sports, 91.9 Sports, TSN 690).

This will be Montreal's first midweek MLS matchup of the season since the Club's Concacaf Champions League run.

Montreal currently sits atop the Eastern Conference standings after shutting out Charlotte FC 2-0 on Saturday at Bank of America Stadium, preserving its eight-game unbeaten record (6-0-2) and five straight undefeated run on the road (3-0-2). This stretch has lifted the Club to first place in the standings for the first time since the start of the 2016 season.

A stiff challenge awaits the Montrealers in Tennessee. The visitors will be looking for their first win against Nashville, having never bested their opponent in four meetings (0-2-2). Nashville also has the fifth best defense in the West, having conceded only 12 goals in 11 games. The hosts are also unbeaten in their last 21 home games (11-0-10), including the playoffs, scoring in each of their last 17 games played on home soil.

Formerly of the Eastern Conference, Nashville SC will host Montreal for the first time at its brand-new stadium, GEODIS Park, which officially opened on May 1. Designed to accommodate a maximum capacity of 30,000 attendees, it is the largest soccer-specific stadium in Canada and the United States.

The evening will also serve as a homecoming for Canadian defender Alistair Johnston who began his professional career with the expansion club (2020-2021). Johnston played 44 games with the team before being acquired by CF Montréal in December 2021.

In addition, CF Montréal midfielder and co-captain Samuel Piette is only 18 minutes away from reaching the milestone of 10,000 minutes played in MLS. He would become the fourth player in Club history to reach that mark since the team's MLS debut. The Canadian international remains the longest tenured current player with CF Montréal, having joined in 2017.

Montreal's defense has allowed just five goals in its last six games and tallied six goals so far. The team is just one goal away from tying that Club record with seven goals scored by defenders in both 2013 and 2021.
