Bounce Back - Nashville SC will be seeking to rebound from a 2-0 loss on the road at Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday night.
Midfielder Luke Haakenson said that the way he expects the team will respond is indicative of the strong attitude within the locker room.
"We need to get back into the film room, look at what didn't go right," Haakenson said. "This group, we are as consistent as it comes. We're going to look at this as a blip on the screen and get in the video room, figure out what didn't go right and correct it Wednesday. And that's the kind of a growth mentality that we have, and I think that speaks to why we're so consistent for the last three years now."
Home Field Advantage - The Boys in Gold have put in strong performances at home so far at GEODIS Park, scoring in all three home matches across all competitions and owning a 2W-0L-1D record.
Defender Dave Romney said that the team gains confidence from playing at home and being successful.
"The momentum difference is huge," Romney said. "It was a complete change in the first game against [Philadelphia Union on May 1], a top team in the league, where we were on them the whole first half. Then [against Real Salt Lake], we were just pinning them in the whole game. It's just building more and more confidence. If we keep doing this, I think we're just going to start getting better and better and just have kind of a swagger about us."
Allez Nashville - This will be Nashville's fifth-ever meeting against CF Montréal. The team owns a 2W-0L-2D record against the Quebecois side, with both wins coming on the road and both draws coming at home in come-from-behind fashion.
Nashville has some player history with Montréal as well. Defender Dan Lovitz played for the club from 2017 to 2019 before being traded to Nashville SC. CF Montréal defender Alistair Johnston also spent the first two seasons of his professional career with Nashville SC.
Wednesday's visitors enter this match on a strong run of form, with its last loss coming on March 12. Montréal has won six of its last eight matches, including last weekend's 2-0 win at Charlotte FC. Midfielder Djordje Mihailovic has led the way in the attack, scoring six goals so far this season.
