HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls (5-2-4, 19 pts.) host Chicago Fire FC (2-5-4, 10 pts.) for the first midweek matchup for New York this season on Wednesday, May 18 at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG GO, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Coverage on MSG begins at 7 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
This will be the 65th overall regular season meeting between New York and Chicago, with the Fire holding the advantage in the series with a 30-21-13 mark. The Red Bulls are unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions, while outscoring their opponents, 12-4, in those matches. Chicago have lost four-straight matches and are winless in MLS action since March 19.
This will be the second match of the season between the two teams with the Red Bulls earning a 2-1 comeback win against Chicago on April 30. Despite going down early, forward Patryk Klimala came off the bench and scored two goals, including a 91st minute game-winning penalty kick goal. This was the first multi-goal game of Kilmala's career and he became the first New York substitute to score multiple goals in a match since Alex Muyl on March 16, 2019, against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Following Wednesday's match, New York will travel to South Florida to take on Inter Miami on Sunday, May 22 at DRV PNK Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG GO, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
