CF Montréal Hosts Portland Satuday at Stade Saputo in Final Home Game

Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - After salvaging an important point in the dying seconds against Houston on Wednesday, CF Montréal will have one last chance to pick up points at home in the playoff race when the Club hosts the Portland Timbers this Saturday at 7:30pm at Stade Saputo (MLS Season Pass, RDS2, TSN, BPM Sports, CJAD 800).
Following this mid-week result, CF Montréal finds itself in ninth place in the East, just above the cutoff line for the playoffs.
Scorer of the tying goal against the Dynamo, Finland's Lassi Lappalainen now has four goals to his name off the bench with CF Montréal. This ties him with Sunusi Ibrahim for the second-most goals scored by a substitute in Club history.
Hernán Losada's men hold a 4-2-2 record and a +5 goal differential against an opponent who rarely visits Stade Saputo. This will be the Timbers' first visit to the venue since June 26, 2019, when the Timbers lost 2-1.
Portland arrives on Canadian soil unbeaten since August 26 (5-0-2 record) and in seventh place in the Western Conference with 43 points. Moreover, with only five points separating fourth place (Salt Lake) from ninth (Dallas) in the conference, the Timbers will be looking to clinch their playoff hopes with a result in Montreal. The Club is presently managed by an interim coach following the dismissal of Giovanni Savarese on August 21. Savarese had led the team since the 2017 season.
Lastly, as part of Fan Appreciate Night match celebrations, CF Montréal's official 2023 team photo will be handed out to 10,000 fans on Saturday night. 15,000 scarves adorned with CF Montréal and TELUS colours will also be distributed at the stadium entrances ahead of kickoff.
