Harrisburg Senators News Release
Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators are pleased to announce a baseball and music doubleheader scheduled for Labor Day, Monday, September 5. The Senators wrap up the regular season with a 2:00 p.m. game against the Akron Aeros and before and after the game The Baseball Project will be performing.
The Baseball Project formed in 2007 and includes Peter Buck of R.E.M., Steve Wynn, Scott McCaughey and Linda Pitmon. They have released two baseball themed albums and their music has been featured on ESPN during baseball broadcasts. Their first album was Volume 1: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails. The group's second album is Volume 2: High and Inside and was released this past March.
They have performed at different baseball venues over the past three years and have also performed on Letterman, and have been interviewed on Extra. They will be playing a short set prior to the game on September 5, then a longer, 45-minute concert after the game. All of the songs have a baseball theme to them. The group met and discussed this venture at the R.E.M. induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
