
Rock Cats Player Transactions Involve Two Pitchers

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League had two player moves today, with each involving a starting Pitcher.
The details:
RHP Deinys Suarez, the 27-year-old native of Havana, Cuba who joined the Rock Cats on June 6th of this year, has been promoted to Rochester in the International League. The 5'11"/195-pound hurler was a member of the Cuban National Team that participated in the 2006 World Baseball Classic. He subsequently defected and signed earlier this year as a Free Agent with Minnesota. While in New Britain, the stocky right-hander made 12 starts for the Rock Cats, tossing 65.2 total innings; he heads to Rochester with a record of 1-6 / and a 5.48 ERA.
LHP Logan Darnell, a 22-year-old native of Joelton, TN who the Minnesota Twins selected out of the University of Kentucky in the 6th Round of the 2010 Draft, is joining the Rock Cats from Ft. Myers in the Florida State League. The 6'2"/210-pound southpaw made 15 starts for the 2011 Miracle in Ft. Myers and leaves for the Double-A Eastern League with a W-L record of 8-3 and an ERA of 4.17. Darnell threw a total of 86.1 total innings in the Florida State League this year and is slated to join New Britain's starting rotation for the final month of the 2011 Season.
Both players will be with their new teams in time for tonight's scheduled action.
