August 28, 2022 - Frontier League (FL)
Tri-City ValleyCats News Release
POMONA, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats and New York Boulders met for the final time in the 2022 Frontier League regular season on Sunday at Clover Stadium. The 'Cats looked to avoid being swept after dropping 4 consecutive games starting on Wednesday.
Cito Culver would start the game with a bang, leaving the yard for a solo shot. The Boulders would answer quickly, putting up 4 runs in the bottom of the first as right-hander Austin Faith struggled early on. Faith would settle in, and the 'Cats would take advantage of situational hitting and a two-run shot by Pavin Parks to tie the game in the top of the third.
Once again, the Boulders would answer quickly, scoring in the bottom of the third to take a 5-4 lead, a lead that would not be surrendered. The Boulders would add 7 more runs in Sunday's contest, holding the ValleyCats to just one additional run, and once again holding them scoreless in the last third of the game, securing the Boulders win and sweep.
