The Yard Goats jumped ahead in the top of the first inning against SeaWolves starter Josh Turley. Omar Carrizales led off with a single and moved to second on a Noel Cuevas sacrifice bunt. Cuevas would scored on a two-out Ashley Graeter base hit for a 1-0 lead.

A Harold Castro error on a likely double play ball allowed both runners to reach safely. A double steal then moved Carrizales and Cuevas up a base and they scored on a Ryan McMahon triple for a 3-0 lead.

Turley would go on to retire the next 13 batters heading into the top of the eighth. Wilson Soriano started the inning with a single. Carrizales and Cuevas each followed with bunt singles, loading the bases. With one out, McMahon drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Soriano for a 4-0 lead. Turley was then lifted for Angel Nesbitt. Graeter lifted a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Carrizales to make it 5-0. Correlle Prime finished the night's scoring as he singled home Cuevas for a 6-0 Goats advantage.
