B-Mets Rally Late for 7-3 Win over the Senators
August 12, 2016 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
For the second game in a row the Harrisburg Senators watched an opponent tally six runs in an inning, this time it was in the seventh and it allowed Binghamton to cruise to a 7-3 win. The Senators saw their lead over Akron drop to 3 1/2 games as Akron routed Portland 18-2.
Michael Brady started and allowed a home run in the first inning for the only run he allowed in six innings of work. Brady scattered six hits and struck out four without walking a batter.
The three runs the Senators scored were all without a hit as all three scored on pitches the went to the backstop. Two of them allowed Andrew Stevenson to score, once on a wild pitch and the other time on a passed ball. Isaac Ballou also scored a run on a passed ball. For the second game in a row, the Senators were hitless with runners in scoring position and are now oh-for-nineteen over their past two games.
Binghamton tallied six runs in the seventh inning on six straight hits, four of which produced runs, all off Sam Runion. Nick Lee pitched the final two innings for the Sens.
Stevenson had three hits in the game, and Stephen Perez had a double for the Senators.
The 5,092 fans on hand had to wait out a one-hour delay before the ballgame started on Friday night.
Game two of the three game series is Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The game can be heard on Fox Sports 1460, through iHeart Radio and the Tune In app beginning with the Matt LeCroy show at 5:45 p.m.
