
Castillo Transferred to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

(TRENTON NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that they have transferred RHP Noel Castillo to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Castillo, 26, has pitched 12 games out of the Thunder bullpen in 2010, going 1-2 with a 7.30 ERA. He has held hitters to a .143 batting average. In 2009, Castillo went a combined 3-2 with a 3.92 ERA in 37 combined appearances with Single-A Tampa and Trenton. He ranked fourth among Yankees minor leaguers in strikeouts in 2008.
The Thunder return to Waterfront Park on Thursday at 7:05 PM to open up a foru game series with the Binghamton Mets. RHP David Phelps (3-0, 1.21) starts for the Thunder, while the Mets start RHP Eddie Kunz (3-2, 6.99).
