KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Aug. 15, 2012) -- Jarrett Casey matched a career- high with seven scoreless innings to quiet the Delmarva Shorebirds bats, pitching the Kannapolis Intimidators to a 5-1 win on Wednesday night at CMC-NorthEast Stadium.

Casey (5-6) held the Shorebirds hitless through five innings until Roderick Bernadina led off the sixth inning with a bunt-single to break up the no-hitter. Casey gave up three hits while walking one and striking out two to earn the win.

Delmarva starter Zach Davies matched Casey with scoreless innings through the first five frames, but Joe De Pinto led off the sixth with a single and eventually stolen third and came home on an errant throw from Shorebirds catcher Wynston Sawyer for a 1-0 lead. Davies (4-6) took the loss, allowing an unearned run on three hits in six innings.

Chris Curley went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI to lead the Intimidators offense. Kannapolis added three runs in the eighth inning to pull away, highlighted by a Joey DeMichele RBI-double.

Jason Van Skike worked the final two frames for Kannapolis, allowing an unearned run on one hit for his third save.
