Carter Creates Stampede Victory

BOISE, Idaho, March 4, 2012 - Stampede forward Paul Carter grabbed an offensive rebound and made the put-back with 2.1 seconds left to lift the Idaho Stampede (16-21) to an 86-84 victory against the Dakota Wizards (19-16) on Sunday afternoon.

Carter finished the day with 14 points and 14 rebounds. The Stampede used 17 offensive rebounds to score 19 second chance points on the day, as Idaho out-rebounded the Wizards 50-35. Mikki Moore had 15 points and nine rebounds, David Bailey had nine points and 11 assists and Tony Bobbitt led the team with 19 points (5-10 3FG) off the bench. Idaho led by as many as 16 and never trailed - the Wizards came all the way back to tie the game at 84 with 52.1 seconds left before Carter's basket.

The Stampede shot just 29.4 percent in the final quarter (5-of-17), missing all five of their three-point attempts, as the home team won the quarter 23-14 to get back in the game. Dakota was led by Mike Anderson's 14 points, while Jeremy Tyler added 13.

Idaho faces off against the Wizards again tomorrow at 6 p.m. (MST).
