Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, NEV.- The Reno Bighorns were hoping to see a spike in play following the returns of Andre Emmett (10-day contract with New Jersey Nets), Mo Charlo (injury) and Cedric Bozeman (injury), but the Bakersfield Jam would spoil the welcome home party.
Emmett had 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists and Cedric Bozeman returned to the team with a solid 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists, but the Jam defeated the Bighorns 116-98 on Saturday night at the Reno Events Center.
Blake Ahearn, the NBA D-League's leading scorer, was held to only 16 points in 33 minutes after getting in foul trouble early in the second half. The Jam were led by Jeremy Wise, who had 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Both teams shot the ball with similar efficiency but it was the Jam's ability to get to the free throw line that was the difference in the game. The Jam went 22-for-32 from the line while the Bighorns made only 11 free throws on 18 attempts.
The Bighorns and Jam tip off again on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Reno Events Center.
Reno Bighorns group ticket packages are on sale today. Groups can experience one of the many Fan Experience Packages, including playing a game on the Bighorns court or performing a routine at halftime of a game. For more information call (775)853-8220 or visit RenoBighorns.com.
