BROOKLYN, NY - Carlos Carrasco made his first rehab start but the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, dropped a 13-3 decision to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Thursday night at Maimonides Park.

BIG MOMENTS
Mets right-handed starter, Carlos Carrasco, tossed two scoreless innings in his first rehab appearance. Carrasco faced seven batters, allowing one hit with two strikeouts. He threw 27 pitches, 12 for strikes and topped out at 94 mph.
Leading 1-0, the BlueClaws plated six runs in the fifth to take a 7-0 advantage, sending 10 men to the plate. Three straight RBI singles from Sal Gozzo, Casey Martin, and DJ Stewart pushed the lead to 5-0, while Herbert Iser drove in two with a double to highlight the inning.
Jersey Shore's Dominic Pipkin struck out five over five innings of one-run ball, allowing a run-scoring single to Brooklyn's Antoine Duplantis in his final frame. Pipkin has struck out 17 Cyclones batters over 17 innings through four starts.

NEWS AND NOTES
Carlos Carrasco pitched against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Thursday night. Carrasco pitched for the same club as a member of the Phillies organization in 2006 under the name Lakewood BlueClaws.
Jersey Shore has won nine of the 15 games in the head-to-head series.
On Friday, the Cyclones will give away "Fonzie" t-shirts to the first 1,000 fans to celebrate the manager of the 2019 NYPL Championship team.
