Kane County Cougars News Release
GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, have announced that infielder Carlos Arrieche has been activated from the disabled list, while Daniel Thomas has been placed on the DL. The switch keeps the Cougars' roster at 25 active players as the squad continues its final regular season road series of the '09 season in Peoria against the Chiefs.
Arrieche (Non-drafted FA, 2002) spent a little over a week on the DL before re-joining the active roster and taking manager Steve Scarsone's roster to a total of eight infielders, although Arrieche has played 25 of 70 games in the outfield as well.
Thomas (13th Rd, 2008) has pitched in 15 games for the Cougars upon joining the squad on July 11, and recorded saves in both of his most recent appearances (8/23, 8/25).
