Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
With the end of the 2009 season in sight, the Quad Cities River Bandits shared some good news with fans already dreading the prospect of seven months without baseball. The official 2010 River Bandits schedule has been finalized and fans can secure a deposit for next year's season ticket and mini-plans right now for just $20!
"It's never too early to start planning for next season, and we have already begun hatching a number of great new promotions that are going to blow our fans away in 2010," said team owner Dave Heller. "Now that the schedule is out we can continue the planning process to make sure our fans benefit from bigger and better promotions, entertainment acts and family fun then ever before. We are proud that our second year with the club has been another resounding success, but you can mark my words: Next season is going to be even better!"
Through Monday, fans still have the opportunity to take advantage of the River Bandits' limited-time offer allowing season ticket and mini-plan holders to reserve their seats for the 2010 campaign for just a $20 deposit. Likewise, those interested in becoming new season ticket or mini-plan holders can lock in their spot for 2010 for the same price. Those who take advantage of the offer will also receive a free autographed item from a River Bandits player and an invitation to the post-season Select-A-Seat event to pick out the specific seat they want and take batting practice on the field at Modern Woodmen Park.
The 2010 schedule features home games on the Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend, and fans will be able to take advantage of 11 Fireworks Fridays and 11 Rockin' Saturdays. The summer months will be especially busy at Modern Woodmen Park with 15 games in July and 14 more in August. The River Bandits are scheduled to play more home games against Clinton and Peoria then anybody else - 10 times each - giving Quad Cities baseball fans ample opportunities to watch the Bandits take on their biggest rival in the LumberKings, or play out the Midwest League version of the Cardinals-Cubs rivalry against the Chiefs.
"The early release of our 2010 schedule helps our fans get a head start on their plans for next year," said Vice President and General Manager Kirk Goodman. "That is important for fans looking to take advantage of the current limited-time offer that enables them to reserve 2010 tickets for just a $20 deposit. This great deal only lasts through Monday, so fans looking to take advantage of the money-saving offer will have to act fast."
Once again, Modern Woodmen Park will play host to NCAA Division-I baseball when the Iowa Hawkeyes take on the Western Illinois Leathernecks on May 18.
One noticeable difference in the 2010 schedule is the Midwest League's shift to playing primarily three-game series', a move that was prompted by the addition of two new teams, the Lake County Captains and Bowling Green Hot Rods. With 16 teams split into two divisions, Quad Cities will now only play clubs from the Eastern Division in one three-game series per year with the home team alternating every other season. River Bandits fans will get their first look at the Cleveland Indians-affiliated Lake County Captains from July 14-16, while the club will visit the Tampa Bay Rays-affiliated Bowling Green Hot Rods from July 21-23.
UP NEXT: The last Thirst-day Thursday of the year is also be Tattoo Night, and fans that get a free River Bandits tattoo will be able to show it at the box office for a free berm ticket to any game in 2010. Thursday's game is also scheduled to feature the professional debut of 18-year-old Shelby Miller, the Cardinals' first-round pick in the 2009 draft. Lastly, the 2009 regular season will conclude with Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, featuring the first-ever Bandit Wedding and one last pyrotechnic extravaganza on a Fireworks Friday!
