Captains Start Six-Game Home Stand Saturday

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the 2010 Midwest League Champions and Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will begin a six-game home stand beginning Saturday as the Dayton Dragons and Great Lakes Loons come to Classic Park. All games begin at 7 PM.

Saturday is a Saturday Fireworks night presented by Monreal Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

The Captains will present the first 2,500 fans with a limited edition Lithograph courtesy of The Lake County Solid Waste District that was drawn by Captains hitting Coach Jim Rickon. Rickon and Captains Manager Ted Kubiak will be available to sign the lithographs until 6:20 PM. Kubiak is featured prominently in this beautiful piece of artwork as it commemorates his time with the Captains and his milestone 1,000 managerial victories. It is also German Heritage Night and the Captains will serve German Schnitzel, Sausage and Strudel. Das Boots filled with domestic draft beer will be on special for $10 and can be re-filled for only $5. A pre-game performance by the Deutscher Musikverein Brass Band and the Danube Swabian Youth Dance Group will make up the entertainment for the evening.

Sunday is an Andrews Osborne Academy Family Fun Sunday and will feature a pre-game player autograph session, expanded concourse entertainment and activities, an enhanced Kids' Zone area with new inflatables and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. Kids who run the bases after the game will receive an Andrews Osborne Academy water bottle. There is a post-game fireworks extravaganza following the game.

Sunday also marks the return to the award winning "Salute to Cleveland Sports History Night". The inaugural event was named ESPN the Magazine's "Minor League Promotion of the Year" for 2009. The night will include Cleveland Sports history-themed on-field promotions, appearances and autograph sessions by Cleveland sports legends, and 10-cent beer being served for an hour prior to the game. Sports legends scheduled to appear include former Browns Coach Sam Rutigliano along with former Browns players Kevin Mack, Bob Golic, Felix Wright and Frank Stams. Cleveland State and now Miami Heat First Round Draft Pick Norris Cole, Cavaliers TV Voice Fred McCloud, former Cleveland Crunch goalie Otto Orf, Cleveland Buckeyes Negro League player Ted Toles Jr. and the Cleveland Crush Lingerie Football team will also be on hand.

The Captains will be wearing 1970's themed Cleveland Indians uniforms that night and fans can bid on the jerseys as part of a post-game jersey auction with proceeds benefiting Captains Charities.

Monday is Buck Night presented by PNC and will feature $1 Five Star Brand Hot Dogs, fries, chips, onion rings, popcorn, soda and beer.

The home stand will continue on Tuesday with another Bark in the Park night, presented by Marc's Doggie Rewards, when fans can bring their canine friends to Classic Park. Dog owners can purchase $5 pooch passes, from which a portion of the proceeds will benefit Marc's Doggie Rewards. The Captains will offer $1 hot dogs on Tuesday nights to complete the dog theme. The team is also presenting a special ticket offer from KRAFT Singles as fans can buy one ticket and get a ticket free when they bring a KRAFT singles wrapper to the Classic Park box office. Another partner of the Captains, the Ohio Lottery, is also offering Captains fans the opportunity for discounted tickets on Tuesday nights. If fans bring a non-winning Ohio Lottery ticket to the box office they will receive a $2 discount off a regularly priced box seat.

Wednesday night is Wine and Wings Wednesday, featuring specials on wings and a wine tasting from a featured winery. Wednesday night's game is also Feed Your Face Night where fans can purchase a ticket and food package for only $18 that includes all-you-can-eat hot dogs, fries, onion rings, popcorn and chips. .

Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, presented by ESPN 850 WKNR and will feature a dime beer Happy Hour from 6 PM to 7 PM and half-price draft beer and soda until 9 PM.

Thursday is also Date Night, presented by Fisher's Jewelers at Shoregate, which gives couples the opportunity to purchase two tickets to The Officer's Club and two meal vouchers, a $56 value, for only $25. As an added bonus, anyone who purchases the Date Night package will be entered into a grand prize drawing at the end of the season in which a gift certificate to Fisher's Jewelers at Shoregate will be awarded. The military is saluted on Thursday nights with Military ID Nights, presented by Lake County Speedway, as military members, their family and friends will receive $5 box seat tickets with a valid military ID.

Iraq War Veteran Troy Yocum who is walking 7,000 miles across the United States, will make a stop at Classic Park on Thursday and $4 of each ticket purchased will benefit the "Wish Upon a Hero Foundation" if fans mention Troy or the "Wish Upon a Hero Foundation" at the Classic Park Box Office.

Katie Spotz will be inducted into the Captains Wall of Champions on Thursday for her world record trans-Atlantic ocean rowing that she completed in 2009.

The home stand concludes on Friday with a post-game Fireworks presented by Larmco Windows and Siding. The Captains will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie by welcoming Peter Ostrum, the actor who portrayed the original Charlie Bucket, to Classic Park. Ostrum will be signing autographs and will be participating in on field activities.

The first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a youth replica jersey presented by Stanley Steemer.
