Dayton Dragons News Release

Lotzkar suffered a strained hamstring on July 16 at Cedar Rapids and returns to action as the Dragons starting pitcher tonight against the West Michigan Whitecaps. Lotzkar has made seven starts for the Dragons this season, going 1-1 with a 5.71 earned run average. Lotzkar, 21, was the Cincinnati Reds supplemental first round draft pick in 2007 out of South Delta High School in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. Prior to this season, he was rated as the 10th best prospect in the Reds organization by Baseball America.

The Dragons host the Whitecaps at Fifth Third Field tonight and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday). Both games start at 7:00 p.m. The Dragons are 24-14 in the second half, tied for first place with the Lansing Lugnuts in the Midwest League's Eastern Division.
