Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake)--The Lake County Captains and Greensboro Grasshoppers began Friday's game at Classic Park, but rain prevented the game from being completed. The game was officially rained out in the middle of the third inning with the Captains leading 2-1.
Because Friday's game was the last scheduled meeting between the Captains and Grasshoppers, the game will not be made up.
Nick Petrucci drilled an opposite-field double to right in the second inning off Sean West to give the Captains a 2-0 lead. The Grasshoppers scored a run on an RBI single by Andy Jenkins in the third to make it 2-1.
The stats in Friday's game will not count in the players' season statistics.
Fans with tickets for Friday's game may redeem them for any remaining regular-season game at Classic Park, based on availability.
The Captains (12-9) won two of the three games against the Grasshoppers (10-11). The Captains will continue the homestand on Saturday night at 7:05 against the Hagerstown Suns. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a mini-bobblehead of former Captains first-baseman Ryan Mulhern, courtesy of Captains radio affiliate WKNR AM 850. For tickets, call (440) 954-WINS.
