
Captains Blanked by TinCaps

Lake County Captains News Release
(Ft Wayne, IN) -For the second time in the last three days, the Lake County Captains were shutout. The Fort Wayne Tincaps scored single runs in the second and eighth innings and used dominant pitching to shut out the Captains 2-0.
Captains' starter Sean Brady allowed a leadoff triple to Trae Santos to start the bottom of the second inning. With one out Santos came in to score the game's first run on an RBI single by Edwin Moreno. Moreno's single was bounced over the head of a pulled in infield.
The Tincaps would add an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, Ruddy Giron doubled. Franmil Reyes followed with an RBI double half way up the wall in leftfield. The ball hit the wall just above the outstretched glove of Anthony Santander.
The Captains' offense was limited all game long by Tincaps' starter Thomas Dorminy. Dorminy sailed through seven innings to earn his eleventh win of the season.
Lake County would threaten in the fifth inning. Grant Fink walked to start the inning, Martin Cervenka followed with a single. Both runners would move up a base on a sacrifice bunt from Greg Allen. However, Dorminy would record back to back strikeouts to strand both runners in scoring position.
Bobby Bradley singled in his first at bat of the game to extend his on base streak to a team high twenty games.
Brady (7-11) was the tough luck loser in 6.0 innings of work. Brady allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits. He walked 1 and struck out 2. Luke Eubank worked 2.0 innings in relief. Eubank allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits. He walked 1 and struck out 1.
The Captains and Tincaps match up again on Friday night at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana. First pitch is at 7:05pm with Justus Sheffield set to start for the Captains. You can hear all the action online Friday night at Captainsbaseball.com.
