
Capitols Come Back, Top Stars, 4-2

Madison, WI - Three third-period goals helped the Madison Capitols break their five-game losing streak and top the Stars 4-2 in Madison on Friday night.
The Stars came out firing, outshooting the Capitols 19-8 in the first period and taking a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Biagio Lerario put the Stars on the board with his 10th goal of the season at 13:38 of the first period. Adam Brady and Will D'Orsi earned assists on the play.
Anthony Wyse make it 2-0 for the Stars late in the second period, but Capitols forward Charlie Gerard would cut the lead to 2-1 less than one minute later. Wyse's goal was unassisted and his first in the USHL.
Madison would continue to score in the third period, getting three third-period goals to top the Stars 4-2.
Sam McCormick picked up two goals in the third and Alex Payusov iced it for the Capitols.
The Stars return to the Ice Box on Tuesday, Dec. 29 against the Waterloo Black Hawks. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. For tickets and more information log onto lincolnstars.com.
