'Canes Recall Zac Dalpe from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Zac Dalpe from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Dalpe, 22, was reassigned to Charlotte on Thursday, and had a goal and an assist in the Checkers' 3-2 shootout loss against Rockford on Friday. The Paris, Ont., native, has skated in nine games with the Hurricanes this season, averaging 6:07 of ice time per game. He has also played in four AHL games with the Checkers, and missed seven NHL games while recovering from a lower-body injury suffered at Buffalo on Oct. 14. Selected by Carolina in the second round, 45th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Dalpe (6'1", 195 lbs.) has totaled four points (3g, 1a) in 24 career NHL games with the Hurricanes.
