Devils Defeat Hershey in Shootout

HERSHEY, Pa. - In a rollercoaster game, the Albany Devils prevailed with a 6-5 shootout victory against the Hershey Bears Saturday at Giant Center. The win marks the first ever victory for the Devils (9-6-1-1) on Hershey's home ice.

For the season, the Devils have now won eight of its last 11 games, going 8-1-1-1 during that span.

In the shootout, Mike Sislo, Matt Anderson and Steve Bernier each scored and netminder Keith Kinkaid made three saves on four tries. He finished regulation and overtime with 28 saves for his fifth win of the season.

After trailing 2-0 early in the game, the Devils established three different leads throughout regulation. Albany received goals by Nathan Perkovich, Darcy Zajac, Eric Gelinas, Bernier and Tim Sestito.

Through two periods, the game stood at 3-3 and Steve Bernier gave the Devils their second lead of the game with a goal at 5:37. Hershey responded with its third power-play goal at 7:51 with Chris Bourque finding the back of the net.

Tim Sestito made the score, 5-4, at 10:07 thanks to Vladimir Zharkov's hard work behind the Bears net. But once again, Hershey answered and sent the game into overtime with a goal by Boyd Kane at 13:30.

Albany went 1-4 on the power play, while Hershey was 3-5. The game ended with the shots even, 33-33.

The Devils return to the ice on Friday, Nov. 25 with a 7:35 p.m. contest at Rochester. Fans can follow the action on 104.5 FM "The Team" ESPN Radio.
