Canaries return to Sioux Falls June 30

Sioux Falls, SD - The Canaries return to Sioux Falls tomorrow, June 30, after a four-day road trip against the St. Joe Blacksnakes. The Canaries will host the Sioux City Explorers this weekend, June 30 - July 2, during Sioux Falls' Sesquicentennial Celebration at the Birdcage.

On Friday night, June 30, the first 500 Canaries fans to enter the Birdcage gates will receive a baseball cap, compliments of Modern Woodmen of America.

The Canaries Sesquicentennial Celebration begins on Saturday night, July 1, at the Birdcage with fireworks, compliments of the Sesquicentennial Task Force and a FREE Kory and the Fireflies concert following the game with Sioux City.

On Sunday, July 2, the first 500 adults over 21 years of age will receive a collectible pint glass, compliments of Toyota. In addition to the giveaway, general admission tickets at walk-up will be sold at just $1.50 a piece.

The Canaries will be on the road again following this weekend's homestand. The Birds will return to the Birdcage on Tuesday, July 11 for a three-game series against the St. Joe Blacksnakes.

Bird Seeds: The Canaries have signed LHP Alex Perez. He played for Winnipeg in '05 and in the Golden League at the start of this season. Perez was originally signed as a nondrafted free agent by the Yankees in 2004. The Canaries have released LHP John Ortiz.
