
Canaries Beat Explorers Again

Sioux Falls, SD.....For the second straight game the Sioux Falls Canaries defeated the Explorers 8-4 Wednesday at Sioux Falls Stadium.
Both teams had 14 hits but the Explorers only had one extra base hit and that came in the ninth inning on a two-run home run by Alex Llanos. Not only did the Explorers have 14 hits, but left 12 runners on base, including the bases loaded twice.
The Explorers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Llanos single home Dustin Jones who led off the game with a single. Jones finished the game with four hits.
Sioux Falls took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, adding multiple runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings to win their fourth straight game.
With the loss, the Explorers have now lost four straight and have lost 12 of their last 13 games to drop into fifth place in the American Association North.
The final game of the three-game series will be Thursday starting at 7:05 at Sioux Falls Stadium.
