Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (November 14)- The Texas Brahmas roster just got stronger as they have signed last season's highest scoring forward Jordan Cameron and tough defenseman Eric Lundberg for the 2008-09 season. Both players will play in tonight's game against Bossier-Shreveport.
Jordan Cameron returns to the Brahmas lineup tonight for his first game for the Brahmas since 2007-08. Last year, Cameron led the Brahmas in scoring with 64 pts (30 G, 34 A) in 57 games. The high scoring forward returns from playing overseas in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), scoring 14 points (6 G, 8 A) in 13 games. Cameron will be wearing #29 this season.
Another addition to the Texas blueline will be defenseman Eric Lundberg. The 6-foot-4, 215 pound Vernon, CT native played with the Augusta Lynx in the ECHL last season. This will be Lundberg's fourth season playing professional hockey. Lundberg and Brahmas goaltender David Cacciola were teammates at Providence College from 2000-2005.
"It's great to have Cameron back with us. We definitely have high expectations for him this year given the type of player he is. Lundberg will be a strong physical presence and we look forward to having him shut down the opponent's top lines," Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong said of the newest Brahmas roster additions.
Texas placed defenseman Ryan Waldner and forward Ryan Fuller on waivers. Waldner played seven games with Texas. Fuller played with the Brahmas for one game.
* The Central Hockey League made a schedule change affecting the Brahmas. The Brahmas original date of March 1 against the Blazers in Oklahoma City Blazers has changed to November 23 at 5:10 PM.
** Tickets are still available for tonight as Texas takes on Bossier-Shreveport for a rematch of last Sunday's Texas 3-2 victory at the NYTEX Sports Centre at 7:15 PM. The Brahmas host the New Mexico Scorpions Saturday night at home for a 7:05 PM faceoff. For tickets please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
