(Odessa, TX) - Mike Gorman's return to Odessa exactly as he planned as the Amarillo Gorillas jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period. Then added three more to beat the Odessa Jackalopes, 6-2, Friday night at the Ector County Coliseum.
Sam Ftorek was named the first star of the game for Amarillo with a goal and three assists on the night. Odessa closed the gap to one after Brian Swiniarski and Mike Lesperance scored goals in a 1:14 span during the second period.
Amarillo's Joe Guenther scored the game winner at 18:46 of the first period on the power play.
