Calgary Hitmen Director of Business Operations Mike Moore Wins WHL Award

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club would like to congratulate Director of Business Operations Mike Moore on winning a Western Hockey League Award.

Moore was honored at a luncheon today with the 2010/11 WHL Marketing / Public Relations Award.

His work with the Hitmen this season was nothing short of outstanding raising over $200,000 with the help of Fans, Sponsors and Partners for various charities including Prostate Cancer Canada, Calgary Interfaith Food Bank, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Distress Centre, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Fields for Life as well as over 50 charities who received stuffed toys through the Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss.

In addition, the Hitmen also set a new Canadian Hockey League single game attendance record when 20,888 fans attended WHL Outdoors at McMahon Stadium on February 21st.

"Mike has done a brilliant job of growing the business side of the Calgary Hitmen," explains Hitmen General Manager, Executive VP and Alternate Governor Kelly Kisio. "Over and above the strong community work, the club also set a franchise record for our largest season ticket base. Both areas were impacted by the tremendous work of Mike Moore."

It's the third time in the franchise's 16 years a member of the Hitmen has won this award. Kip Reghenas was a winner in the 2007/08 season while Mark Stiles was honored for his outstanding efforts during the 2003/04 season.
