Bowie, Maryland - The Somerset Patriots (62-44) rode a four-run fifth inning and another strong night of pitching to a 4-1 win over the Bowie Baysox (61-44) Saturday night at Prince George's Stadium.

The game was scoreless through the first four innings before the Patriots plated four runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead. Oswaldo Cabrera (19) clubbed an opposite field three-run home run that pushed the Patriots ahead before Isiah Gilliam added a two-out RBI single later in the frame.

Bowie's lone run came in the bottom of the fifth on a Terrin Vavra RBI single.

Somerset starter Randy Vasquez (W, 1-1) earned his first Double-A win with six innings of one-run ball. The No. 20 prospect in the New York Yankees organization (MLB.com) allowed only four hits and struck out seven over his six innings of work.

Garrett Stallings (L, 1-2) allowed three runs over 4.0+ innings and suffered the loss. Nick Ernst (S, 2) worked a perfect ninth inning to lock down the save.

With the win, Somerset is now 0.5 games up on Bowie for the second playoff spot in the Double-A Northeast League with 13 games left in its regular season schedule.

Somerset concludes its six-game series in Bowie Sunday afternoon. First pitch at Prince George's Stadium is set for 1:35 p.m.
