The Wahoos tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Brodie Green came down to score on Steve Selsky's RBI single.
The game remained tied until Yorman Rodriguez hit a go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Pensacola a 2-1 lead.
The Suns made sure Pensacola's first lead of the game was short-lived. Alex Burg drove in Austin Nola and Austin Barnes to put Jacksonville ahead for good with a two-run double to center as the Suns re-gained the lead at 3-2. In the top of the eighth inning.
The Suns and Blue Wahoos will be back at it for the series finale on Wednesday, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. CT (7:30 p.m. ET) at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.
