Jorge Reyes to Mississippi, Carroll to Lynchburg

PEARL, MS -- The Atlanta Braves have acquired RHP Jorge Reyes from the San Diego Padres in a trade for cash considerations. Reyes has been assigned to Double-A Mississippi. In corresponding moves, outfielder Daniel Carroll has been reassigned to High-A Lynchburg from Double-A Mississippi.

Reyes, 26, was 3-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 24 relief appearances at Triple-A El Paso. He posted a record of 2-0 with a 1.06 ERA in 12 games during the month of May. The Texas native was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the 17th round of the 2009 draft out of Oregon State University. He was named Most Outstanding Player in the 2007 College World Series.

Carroll, 25, joined the M-Braves on May 7 and hit .149 in 19 games. He started the season at Low-A Rome where he hit .342 in 10 games. In six games at High-A Lynchburg, he hit .313. He was originally selected by the Seattle Mariners in the third round of the 2007 draft. He spent six seasons in the Mariners system and started the 2013 season with the Independent Lincoln Saltdogs. He was signed by the Braves as a free agent in July 2013.
