Late Inning Heroics by Cuevas Clinch Series Win for Lookouts

Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
A late two-out rally, capped off by a Noel Cuevas two-run triple, gives the Chattanooga Lookouts (24-35) the 4-2 victory and clinches a series win versus the Mobile BayBears (34-24) in their last home series before the All-Star Break.
Matt Shelt on got his first start of the season tonight for the Lookouts. H is last start came as a part of the Lancaster JetHawks on August 31, 2013. Shelt on made the most of his time on the mound, throwing 56 pitches in three innings, but only allowing one hit. An unearned run did come across the plate on a throwing error by Darnell Sweeney in his final inning of work.
It only took until the next inning to get that run back, as Scott Schebler, who has been absolutely crushing the ball in this series, worked his way into getting a lead-off walk. Chris O'Brien sliced a ball down the left field line, that bounced fair before going over the side-wall for a ground rule double, advancing Schebler to third. At that point, all that was needed was a groundout to shortstop by Cuevas to bring Schebler home and tie the game at one run apiece.
Both pitching staffs did a fantastic job of shutting down the offenses for most of the game. It took until the eighth inning for the one run tie to be broken when Garrett Weber of the BayBears drove in a run on a groundout. When the bottom of the inning rolled around, the scoring started on another leadoff walk, this time by Ryan Adams. Two outs later, the rally began in earnest when Schebler singled Adams home. O'Brien joined in the fun by hitting one back up the middle and the inning was capped off by Nutrition World Player of the Game Noel Cuevas smashing a ball into the right field corner for a triple, bringing the two winning runs across the plate.
Wednesday is a day game, but it's the last chance to see the Lookouts before the Home Run Derby (6/16) and All-Star Game (6/17) . Raydel Sanchez (0-3, 7.78) will look to get his first win of the year against Justin Fitzgerald (3-0, 4.37), who hasn't lost yet this season.
Notes: Noel Cuevas has been on fire at home the last few weeks. He has gotten a hit in every home game since May 12th, and has gone 15-for-41 (.366) with 10 runs scored and nine RBIs at home in that time frame.
