Durham Bulls News Release
DURHAM - The Durham Bulls came back from a 3-0 deficit, but suffered an 8-3 loss to the Louisville Bats on Thursday at the DBAP. The loss was the Bulls' fourth straight.
After Louisville (11-8) jumped out to an early lead, Taylor Motter and Richie Shaffer had back to back home runs in the fourth to cut the Bats' lead to 3-2.
The Bulls (10-12) tied the game in the seventh when Jake Goebbert led off with a single and moved up to second on a groundout. Goebbert came home when Cameron Seitzer reached on a throwing error into the Durham dugout.
Justin Marks (0-1) suffered the loss in relief of starter Matt Andriese for Durham. Steve Delabar (1-0) earned the win out of the bullpen for Louisville.
Durham Manager Jared Sandberg was ejected between the third and fourth innings for arguing a call. Cameron Seitzer had slid into second to break up a double play, but the batter, Dayron Varona, was called out because the umpire ruled Seitzer interfered in his slide.
