
Bulldogs Drop 2-1 Decision to Moose

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Manitoba Moose 2-1 on Tuesday night in their final regular season home game for 2009-2010 at Copps Coliseum. Hamilton fired 35 shots on net by Cory Schneider denied 34 of them while Sergei Shirokov had a goal and an assist. The Bulldogs tied the franchise record for fewest goals allowed at home as they were only scored on 83 times at Copps Coliseum. This ties the record set by the 2002-2003 team.
The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 5:32 of the first frame. Ryan White carried the puck to the right side boards before centering a pass to Maxime Lacroix. Lacroix skated towards the net and snapped a shot over the blocker of Manitoba starting goaltender Cory Schneider.
The Moose tied the game 1-1 at 3:13 of the final frame while on a 5-on-3 power play. Evan Oberg received the puck from Sergei Shirokov before blasting a shot from the point. The puck bounced off a Bulldogs player in front of the net and past Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins. Manitoba took a 2-1 lead at 7:00. Marco Rosa received the puck from Kevin Clark while at the right side of the net. Rosa took a shot that was deflected over Desjardins by the stick of Shirokov.
The Bulldogs travel to Syracuse to meet the Crunch on Friday, April 9th at 7:30 p.m. before visiting Ricoh Coliseum for their final regular season game of the 2009-2010 season against the Toronto Marlies at 4:00 p.m. Fans can listen to every âDogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
