Panthers Recall Dadonov, MacIntyre

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the Florida Panthers have recalled forwards Evgeny Dadonov and Steve MacIntyre. In a related move, the Amerks have also signed forward Andrew Lord to a 25-game professional tryout.

Dadonov and MacIntyre will meet the Panthers in South Florida tonight for their National Hockey League contest against the Ottawa Senators. Faceoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the BankAtlantic Center.

The recall is the first this season for Dadonov, who can potentially make his NHL debut tonight for the Panthers. A native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, the first-year pro leaves as Rochester's top scoring rookie and ranks sixth overall on the team with 40 points (17+23) and 36 penalty minutes in 76 American Hockey League games.

MacIntyre earns his sixth promotion to the big club this season and second in as many weeks as the rugged forward makes his return to the Panthers lineup. A native of Brock, Saskatchewan, MacIntyre, 29, has skated in 14 games with the Panthers this season, recording one assist and 17 penalty minutes. In 34 AHL games with Rochester, the 6-foot-5, 250-pound forward has two points (0+2) and 86 penalty minutes.

Lord, a 25-year-old native of West Vancouver, British Columbia, joins the Amerks after scoring 17 goals and 19 assists for 36 points in 70 games this season with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers. Lord, a second-year pro, posted his best season in 2008-09, capturing career highs in all offensive categories in goals (18), assists (31) and points (49), in addition to appearing in seven playoff games for the Nailers. Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound forward played four seasons (2004-08) of collegiate hockey at R.P.I, collecting 45 points (19+26) in 134 career games for the Engineers.

Rochester returns to Van Andel Arena for the second time in as many weeks on Wednesday, April 7th as it closes out its season series with the Grand Rapids Griffins. The 7:00 p.m. North Division bout will be the sixth and final meeting between the two teams this season and will be carried live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. With a win over Grand Rapids, Rochester can clinch second place in the North Division and secure home ice advantage for the first round of the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs.
