TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have recalled defenseman Matt Lashoff from the Admirals, Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced today.

Lashoff, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound defenseman from East Greenbush, New York, has appeared in two games with the Lightning this season and was scoreless with 15 penalty minutes. He has appeared in 60 career NHL games between the Lightning and Boston Bruins, scoring one goal and 15 points. A 2005 first-round draft choice (22nd overall) of the Bruins, the Lightning acquired Lashoff from Boston on March 4, 2009 with Martins Karsums in exchange for Mark Recchi and second-round draft pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Lashoff has skated in 68 games with the Admirals this season, recording eight goals and 24 points. He is second on the team among defensemen in goals, assists and points. Lashoff has skated in 234 career AHL games between Norfolk and the Providence Bruins, tallying 34 goals and 119 points.

The Admirals will conclude their 2009-10 regular season this week with a three-game homestand beginning tomorrow against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before they host the Hershey Bears on Friday and Saturday nights.
