
Bulldogs down Moose 6-2

Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Manitoba Moose 6-2 on Wednesday night in front of 6,499 fans. Ryan Russell had two goals including his fourth shorthanded goal of the season to move the Bulldogs back into second place in the North Division.
The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 8:08 of the first period. Kyle Chipchura sent a pass to Russell, who skated down the left side. Russell released a shot that beat Manitoba starting goaltender Cory Schneider on the blocker side.
Hamilton added its second goal while on the power play at 8:27 of the middle frame. Ben Maxwell skated off the right side boards before skating past a Manitoba player and dropping a pass to Mike Glumac. Glumac rifled a shot over the right shoulder of Schneider.
The Moose cut the lead to one goal at 11:49 of the second stanza. Raymond Sawada picked-off a puck clearing attempt by Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis before sending a pass to Guillaume Desbiens, who was positioned in front of the net. Desbiens fired a shot that beat Denis through the five-hole.
Brock Trotter gave the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead while on the power play at 18:47 of the second period. Glumac fired a shot on net that was stopped by Schneider. Schneider was unable to control the rebound allowing Trotter to bang the puck into the back of the net. The goal increased Trotter's goal-scoring streak to four games.
Manitoba made the game 3-2 with a goal at 2:31 of the final frame. Pierre-Cedric Labrie earned a partial breakaway as he fought with a Bulldogs defender. Labrie fell to the ice but managed to shove the puck under Denis' pads with one hand on his stick.
Chad Anderson scored at 6:09 to regain Hamilton's two-goal lead. Pacioretty sent the puck to Anderson, who blasted a shot from the point. The shot sailed through traffic before beating Schneider between the legs. The Bulldogs increased their lead to 5-2 17 seconds following their fourth goal. Chipchura fed a pass to Russell, who was stationed in the slot. Russel snapped a shot that beat Schneider on the glove side.
Following the goal, Manitoba replaced Schneider with goaltender Curtis Sanford.
Hamilton scored its third power-play goal of the game at 11:49. T.J. Kemp sent a pass to Yanick Lehoux before Lehoux deked past a Manitoba player. Lehoux ripped a shot that sailed over the right shoulder of Sanford and into the back of the net.
The Bulldogs travel to Grand Rapids to battle the Griffins on Friday, April 10th for a 7:00 p.m. game.
