Adirondack Phantoms News Release
PHILADELPHIA - Approximately 500 tickets remain for this Friday's regular season Phantoms finale at the Wachovia Spectrum. The Phantoms host the Hershey Bears at 7:05 PM.
Doors will open a half-hour earlier than normal, at 5:30 PM. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and use public transit, as the Sixers are also playing Friday night at the Wachovia Center. There will be a block party at the Spectrum that opens at 5:00 PM, weather permitting.
The game will have significant playoff implications for the Phantoms. Philadelphia is one point ahead of the Binghamton Senators in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot in the East Division. Both teams have three games remaining and both are in action tonight. Philadelphia visits the Albany River Rats and Binghamton is at Syracuse.
Depending on what happens tonight, the Phantoms could be in several situations on Friday, ranging from possibly clinching a playoff spot to possibly needing to win the game to stay alive in the playoff race. Hershey will come into the contest fighting for playoff position, with just five points separating the Bears, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the battle for the first through third seeds in the division.
The Phantoms were 12 points behind Binghamton just over three weeks ago, on March 14. In 14 games since then, the Phantoms have gone 10-2-0-2 to erase that deficit and hop back into playoff position.
Friday's game will be the 482nd and final regular season game that the team plays at the historic building. It has been kind to the Phantoms over the years, as the team has put together a record of 278 wins, 142 losses, 24 ties, 23 overtime losses and 14 shootout losses (278-142-24-23-14). That's a winning percentage of .576 and a points percentage of .641.
Friday evening will start out with a ceremony honoring the final game at the Spectrum, and will conclude with the team's annual Shirts off our Back event, where several lucky fans will win the jerseys right off the backs of the players on the ice.
Adult tickets are just $10 and kids tickets just $5 for Friday's game. Tickets are available through ComcastTIX at 1-800-298-4200, at the Wachovia Complex box office or online at Phantomshockey.com.
