
Bulldogs Defeated by Rampage 5-4

San Antonio, TX - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the San Antonio Rampage 5-4 on Sunday night. Gabriel Dumont recorded three assists for the 'Dogs but San Antonio scored three goals in the second period and two goals in the third for the win.
The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 9:50 of the first frame. Dumont skated down the right wing before sending the puck to the slot, where Andrew Conboy was stationed. Conboy released a shot that beat San Antonio starting goaltender Joe Fallon.
Conboy added his second goal of the game 30 seconds into the middle frame. Dumont skated towards the slot before sending a pass to Conboy. Conboy proceeded to wrist a shot past Fallon.
The Rampage made the game 2-1 at 10:00 of the second stanza with a power-play marker. MacArthur fired a shot on net that was stopped by Hamilton starting goaltender Robert Mayer. Following a scrum in front of the net, Bracken Kearns whacked the loose puck past Mayer and into the net. San Antonio tied the game at 12:15. While positioned in the right corner, Mikkel Boedker dished the puck to the right point, where Maxim Goncharov was stationed. Goncharov blasted a shot that sailed past Mayer and into the net. The Rampage took a 3-2 lead at 14:49. Brett MacLean skated behind the net before sending a pass to Alexandre Picard, who was on the left side of the net. Picard proceeded to tap the puck past Mayer.
San Antonio took a 4-2 lead at 1:02 of the last stanza. While positioned in the left corner, MacLean sent the puck to Andrew Ebbett, who was stationed in the slot. Ebbett spun around before backhanding a shot along the ice and past Mayer.
Dustin Boyd made the game 4-3 at 4:26 of the final frame. David Desharnais fed the puck to Ben Maxwell, who sent the puck towards the net. Boyd was stationed in front of the net allowing him to redirect the puck past Fallon and across the goal line.
Picard added his second goal of the game at 14:03 of the final frame while on the power play. Petr Prucha received the puck from Michael Stone before firing a shot on net. Mayer made the save but was unable to control the rebound, allowing Picard to jam it past the goaltender.
The 'Dogs cut the lead to one at 15:11 of the third period. Dumont dropped a pass to Andreas Engqvist, who ripped a shot that sailed over the shoulder of Fallon, off the post and into the net.
The Bulldogs will play their final game before Christmas on Tuesday, December 21st when they travel to Houston to battle the Aeros for an 8:05 p.m. EST game. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
