BRIDGEPORT, CT - Micheal Haley, Jeremy Colliton and Brandon Svendsen each scored once to lead the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to a 3-1 win over the Portland Pirates in an American Hockey League game played this afternoon in front of 2,731 at Arena at Harbor Yard.
Josh Bailey collected a pair of assists in the win to help Bridgeport to improve to 15-13-1-2 on the season.
Luke Adam netted the lone goal of the Pirates, who completed weekend action winless (0-2-1-0) to slip to 17-10-2-1 on the campaign.
The Sound Tigers opened the scoring as Haley connected on a power play midway through the opening period to give the home side a 1-0 lead. However, only 25 seconds later the Pirates got back on even terms when Adam connected to tie the game at one after one. After a scoreless second period Colliton scored what turned out to be the game winner four minutes into the third and Svendsen added an insurance tally in the final minute of regulation to complete the scoring.
The Sound Tigers out shot the Pirates 33-27 in the game as David Leggio took the loss.
The Allied Home Mortgage Three Stars of the game were 1. Colliton, 2. Bridgeport goalie Kevin Poulin and 3. Leggio.
