Bulldogs Defeated by Marlies

Toronto, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs dropped a 4-2 decision to the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum on Friday night.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 14:59 of the first period when Jeff Paul's shot from point was tipped-in by Jean-Francois Jacques. Duncan Milroy also earned an assist.

The Marlies tied the game at 1-1 just 2:25 into the second period when Jay Harrison took a wrist shot from the face-off circle that beat Hamilton goaltender Jaroslav Halak. Andrei Kostitsyn restored the Bulldogs lead at 6:37 with Hamilton on a two-man advantage. Kostitsyn one-timed a pass from Corey Locke behind Marlies goaltender Jean-Francois Racine. The assist was Locke's 100th career AHL point.

Toronto forward Alexander Suglobov tied the game at 16:11 when he fired a shot from the high slot past Halak. The Marlies took a 3-2 lead with 1:30 remaining in the middle frame when Jeremy Williams took a Kris Newbury pass, cut into the slot and snapped a shot over the blocker of Halak.

Williams netted his second goal of the game at 19:01 of the third period to round out the scoring.

Halak made 26 saves, while Racine stopped 25 shots

Hamilton was 1 for 6 on the power play while Toronto went 0 for 7.

The Bulldogs' final game of the season will take place tomorrow, Saturday, April 15th when they face the Marlies. Walter Gretzky will be in attendance and will participate in the pre-game ceremonies.
