Bulldogs come from behind to tie River Rats

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs erased a two goal deficit and came from behind to tie the Albany River Rats 2-2 in front of 7,154 fans at Copps Coliseum on. The Bulldogs last three games have went to overtime.

The River Rats opened the scoring with two first period goals. Earning goals for Albany were Chris Hartsburg and Mike Matteucci.

Marcel Hossa got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard with his ninth goal of the season at the 14:46 mark of the second period. Benoit Gratton and Jozef Balej picked up assists on the play.

Hamilton tied the game 2-2 at 13:45 of the third, when Chris Higgins took a snap shot that went past the glove hand of Albany goaltender Ari Ahonen. Assists went to defenceman Patrick Traverse and Francois Beauchemin.

In goal, the Bulldogs Eric Fichaud made 26 saves to preserve the tie. Ari Ahonen stopped 39 shots for the River Rats.

The Bulldogs scored once on five power play opportunities. The River Rats failed to score on three opportunities with the man-advantage

The Hamilton Bulldogs next action will take place on Thursday, February 26th when they travel to Toronto to face the Roadrunners.
